Depart from Rekjavik on a two day journey that will acquaint you with the natural wonders of Iceland's South Coast. Day One Day one begins with a drive from Reykjavik to visit four beautiful waterfalls: Gljufrabui, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, and the secret waterfall Kvernufoss. After making a stop for lunch, you will continue on to the well-known Sólheimajökull glacier for a unique 1.5 hour hike across the ice. From there, visit the world-famous Reynisfjara Beach and wander under basalt cliffs along the broad strip of jet black sand. Witness countless puffins, kittiwake, and fulmar hunting for fishes or taking off from nests set into the cliff face. At the end of the day, rest at the country guesthouse near Seljalandsfoss which will serve as your accommodation for the night. Day Two Day two will bring you up close and personal with a majestic glacier lagoon. In the morning, stop at the picturesque village of Vik before visiting the Foss a Sidu waterfall and Skaftafell National Park (where it is possible to buy lunch). Continue on to Jökulsárlón, a stunning glacier lagoon filled with huge chunks of ice which crack off of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and float slowly out to sea. Admire the icebergs that wash on shore and glimmer brilliantly against the vivid black sand and spot seals darting around icebergs that float out to sea. After exploring the lagoon, you will be transported back to Reykjavik where you'll arrive around 9:30pm. Includes
